Some New and Exciting Changes
In an attempt to better serve our members the LOOM and WOTM officers have tried to come up with some new ideas and different ways of doing things for you our members.
We moved Steak Night to the first Friday of the month and lowered prices as well as changing the Friday dinners. We are trying to put out a good dinner at a fair price. Our plan is to have Steak Night on the first , Fried Chicken on the second, Fried Fish on the third and BBQ or something special on the forth Friday of each month. Due to scheduling conflicts this is not always possible so keep an eye on this website in case of any changes. July is a perfect example of this.
Some of the new changes just implemented or coming soon are we are now selling TJ’s Pizza anytime with a Thursday special of 1 TJ’s pizza and a pitcher of beer for $10. A daily or weekly 50/50 and free wireless internet are coming soon. We are also trying to have more Saturday night events such as Trivia’s, Mouse Races, Comedy shows, benefits, etc. If you know someone that needs a hall for a fundraiser we may be able to help, just ask. We are also thinking of an electronic newsletter as it is getting very expensive to send them through the mail. We also send out a weekly email with upcoming events. When we start doing electronic newsletter we will send them to anyone already on the email list. If you are not on the list and want to be added just send us an email through the “Contact Us” tab at the top. Let any fellow members know of these changes.
And of course we still have our tried and true events such as washer tournaments during the summer, the Lemonade and soda stands at the park in July and at Relleke Farms in October, Wednesday night cheeseburgers, the free kid’s games and playground and the golf scramble in September. We can use any help anyone is willing to give for any event.

As always if you have any suggestions or complaints we are always will to hear them. The “Suggestion Box” is coming out of moth balls or come to a Lodge Meeting (men - first & third Thursday) WOTM (check with a women officer for time of open meetings) or put a comment in the “Governors Notes” behind the bar.
We are trying to make our lodge a better place for all members and their children.
Thank you all

The Granite City Moose is still here and we are not going any where any time soon. A very short time ago, it didn’t look like we were going to survive. With some luck and very hard work of many, we have fought back and we are as strong as we have been in a long time. We know that one of our biggest problems is advertising. We just didn’t have the money to make and mail the Newsletter. We have been trying to get information out via e-mail. A big thanks to Mike Simpson who has been doing his best to get e-mail addresses and get activities to you. We also know that many of you don’t have the internet and have been kept out of the loop. Now it is our responsibility to get you back in that loop. It is our job to get you back in the lodge. And we are going to do everything we can to get you back. It was not that long ago that we had to bring out more tables on Wednesday cheeseburger night. We will get back there. We have our Queen of Hearts drawing doing really well on Fridays, but we remember when it was standing room only for the old drawing. The new drawing is much more exciting and we will get back there, too. How many of you Senior members know that we have a dance on the 2nd Friday of each month? We call it a Senior’s dance but it is open to anyone who wants to enjoy the great music of the “ Casuals “. We have many plans for the upcoming months that we know there is something for all of you. Comedy shows, mouse races, trivia night fundraisers, pool tournaments, potluck dinners, free WiFi are just a few activities that are being planned. Now it is time for all of us to throw away any bad experiences that we may have had and move forward. We have great members in this lodge and it is time for us to work together. We have worked too hard to just give up. The one reason we should never forget about is the children at Mooseheart that depends on us to pay our dues. Our community needs us. Our Seniors at Moosehaven need us. So what do you think? Can we do this? We have our 100th year anniversary coming up in May. 100 years this lodge has survived all kinds of adversity. I believe that we can do this together.
